Call to waive
mark-up on loans
for B'stan growers
RECORDER REPORT
QUETTA: The Balochistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) has demanded that the mark-up on bank loans obtained by agriculturists and livestock breeders in Balochistan should be waived off since 1997 because of femine and drought conditions prevailing.
Chamber Chief Sardar Mohammad Ali Jogezai said here on Monday that almost entire Balochistan had been in grip of drought for the last three years. As such not only mark-up should be waived off for the past three years but the banks should also not demand principal from Balochistan borrowers before December 2000.
He appreciated Wapda for its decision on deferring power bills till June 2000 from provincial peasantry and livestock breeders. He suggested to extend the date till December 2000.
