BADIN: About 22 houses were burnt to ashes when fire broker out in village sobdar Solangi, four kilometers away from Badin on Sunday evening.

The fire, which erupted due to short circuit, engulfed most of the houses within no time and the residents could only save their lives.

The fire started from the house of one villager Mithan and encircled 22 houses due to winds. The villagers said, unfortunately there was no water in the village to extinguish the fire. It broke out at about 1 pm and was controlled late in the night.

Due to fire, all the belongings of the villagers including food grains, gold ornaments, cash etc burnt to ashes. The houses belonged to Ibrahim Solangi, Ismail, Yousuf, Miyon Wasayo, Bachal, Mithoo, Alam Sham, Shah Dino, Miran Shah, Hasan Shah, Dost Mohammad, Mir Mohammad, Razaq, Basar Solangi, Jumon, Hussain and others.

The affected villagers told PPI that certain army officers and the officials of district administration visited their village but no help has been extended by them and they are sitting along with their children under the open sky.ÑPPI
