education

RECORDER REPORT

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Azim Daudpota said on Monday that the officials of the different boards of secondary education should not limit their functions to managing examinations but should also contribute towards the improvement of education in the province.

Daudpota was talking to the officials of the Karachi Board of Secondary Education during his visit to the KBSE to see for himself the functioning of the board.

He asked the officials to utilize the existing facilities and other resources and contribute their share of good work for the improvement of the standard of education.

He advised the officials to select at least one school in each district of Karachi and convert it into a pilot project where arrangement for good education and personality grooming could be provided.

The governor said more attention should be paid on the schools in poor localities such as Lyari and better qualified and better trained teachers should be posted there.

He said copy-culture should be checked with full force as it had destroyed the entire system of education in the country.

KBSE Chairman Aziz Ansari briefed the governor on the functioning of the Board. Provincial minister for works, A. N. G. Abbasi, adviser to the governor on education, Abdul Wahab Shaikh, secretary to the governor, Brig. Akhtar Zamin, and secretary works, Hafzur Rehman, were also present at the briefing.
