14 killed in occupied
Kashmir
SRINAGAR: Indian security forces and guerrillas fought fierce gunbattles in the occupied Kashmir on Sunday, leaving at least 14 dead on both sides, officials said.
At least five Mujahideen were killed in a gunbattle with the army in Panzalpura village in Baramulla region.
Three soldiers of the Border Security Force and three freedom fighters were killed in another gunbattle in Nassu Bandipura, 10 kilometer (six miles) to the South.
A senior guerrilla leader was killed in a third confrontation in Tral, about 45 kilometers (27 miles) south of Srinagar.
A military officer and a civilian were also killed in the gunbattle and three other civilians wounded.
