Indian shelling kills girl along LoC

MUZAFFARABAD: Continued Indian shelling on the civilian population along the LoC in Nakial sector on Friday claimed life of an eight-year-old girl and wounded two others, police said.

The girl identified as Uzma, daughter of Mohammed Hussian, was hit by a splinter of Indian-fired artillery shell in Sandhara village of Nakial sector of southern district Kotli. She died on the spot.

Two other girls, identified as Nosheen Akhtar, daughter of Mohammed Ilyas, 14, and Sadia, daughter of Abdul Razzaq, 10, were wounded by splinters in Moradhara village of Nakial sector of southern district Kotli. They were hit in shoulder, and legs respectively, officials added.

The injured were admitted in Tehsil headquarters hospital, Nakial.

Officials said the intermittent shelling with artillery and mortars is continued in this sector round-the-clock.
