PN personnel

KARACHI: Admiral Abdul Aziz Mirza, Chief of Naval Staff, conferred various civil and military awards on 116 PN personnel at Bahria Auditorium PNS Jauhar on Friday. These included nine Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military), four Sitara-e-Basalat, 18 Tamgha-e-Khidmat (M)-1, 20 Tamgha-e-Khidmat (M)-11 and 38 Tamgha-e-Khidmat (M)-111.

Earlier on his arrival, Admiral Abdul Aziz Mirza, Commander Karachi Rear Admiral S A Baqar received the Chief of the Naval Staff.

Before the conferment of awards, Captain Iftikhar, Director Personnel Services, read out citation of respective award winners. These awards were announced by the government in recognition of meritorious services, acts of gallantry and devotion to duty of recipients in various fields. Chief Petty Officer Muhammad Akram was given the award of the best sailor of the year 1999.

The ceremony started with the recitation of holy Quran and was followed by refreshment served in the courtyard of Bahria Auditorium.

A large number of military and civil officials and family members of the recipients of awards attended the ceremony.ÑPPI
