Cigarettes worth Rs 4 million stolen

Lahore: Dacoits deprived a Gold Leaf distributor of cigarettes worth Rs four million on Friday. The incident took place at around 3 am in a godown situated in Bank Square, Mall Road.
The dacoits who were 20-25 in number, came in three trucks. They parked the vehicles in front of the godown and tied the hands of watchman Abdul Majeed and his son Shahid with a rope. They then loaded the trucks with the cartons of cigarettes and ran away.
They also took the watchman and his son with them and later dropped them from the vehicle in Molanwall, Multan Road. The watchman informed the police and the owner of the godown, Sheikh Raza Riaz, about the incident.
Sheikh Raza Riaz reported to the police the total value of the cigarettes around Rs four million, however, Old Anarkali police mentioned the value just Rs 2.5 million in the FIR.
Later, during a press conference the City Police Chief Capt. Mohammad Zubair said that police were looking for the culprits and they would soon be behind the bars.
