JAKARTA: The Chief Executive Gen Pervez Musharraf paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the House Representatives Akbar Tanjung here on Friday and discussed with him matters of mutual interest.
Tanjung briefed the Chief Executive about the working of the House of Representatives and told him that both Indonesia and Pakistan are facing similar problems. Both the countries should try to solve the same.
Gen Musharraf briefed him about his plans on devolution of power, saying that district level elections in Pakistan will be held in different phases starting from the December this year.
VISITS PAKISTAN'S EMBASSY
Gen Pervez Musharraf visited Pakistan Embassy before going for his Friday prayers at Istiqlal Mosque.
Accompanied by Foreign Minister Abdul Sattar, Commerce Minister Razak Dawood and Pakistan's Ambassador Afzal Akbar Khan, he went round the embassy and said that it was being well kept. The Embassy building here is owned by Pakistan.
The Chief Executive signed the guest book and wrote that he felt good to see a well maintained Pakistan owned embassy.
Later Pakistan's ambassador hosted luncheon in honour of Gen Pervez Musharraf and his delegation.
VISITS TAMAN MINI INDONESIA
Gen. Pervez Musharraf also visited Taman Mini Indonesia in Southern outskirts of Jakarta and planted a sapling soon after his arrival praying may friendship between Pakistan and Indonesia grow like this tree.
Gen Musharraf was taken around in a colourful bus to various parts of Mini Indonesia and he showed keen interest in an excellent work of wood carving and the work of art.ÑAPP
