ICCI suggests
joint arbitration
committee
RECORDER REPORT
KARACHI: The Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) has proposed setting up of a joint committee to arbitrate in trade disputes. The committee would have representation of the Export Promotion Bureau, Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
Aqeel A.Al-Jassem, Secretary General, ICCI, keeping in mind the importance of developing economic ties between Islamic countries and particularly between Pakistan and other Islamic countries, has asked the FPCCI for feedback and any suggestions it might deem appropriate for such a joint committee.
The main purpose of the committee would be to: assist in resolving disputes between the traders of Pakistan and those from other Islamic countries, and assist in increasing the trade of Pakistan with other Islamic countries. It could prove instrumental in restoring the image of Pakistan among the business world.
