Tracking of snatched vehicles made easy

KARACHI: Trakker (Pvt) Ltd, a Pakistani company in joint venture with Digicore International, a South African multinational with years of experience in vehicle and fleet management fields, launched the C-Trak, a state-of-the-art vehicle tracking and fleet management system in Karachi on Friday.
The C-Track, is a product which uses the advanced Global Positioning Satellite system to pinpoint the exact location and the status of the vehicles.
Sindh Governor Air Vice Marshall Azim Daudpota (Retd), speaking as chief guest at the launching ceremony said that Pakistan was chosen for the introduction of this high tech system before India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia Thailand and a host of other countries.
He said Pakistan is proud of having the confidence of the foreign investors in this field, who have brought the new concept of vehicle management, to prevent vehicles from being stolen and for more effective policing, for safer environment or for efficient transport of fuel, cargo, etc. resulting in the savings of man hours and fuel costs.
In any nation the responsibility of safeguarding ones' assets initially remained with the owner of the asset, he said.
He assured the foreign investors of his full support in strengthening the partnership with all the available resources, for combating crime with the cooperation of the civil society, law enforcement authorities and investors.
Earlier giving the details of the C-track, the Chief Executive Officer of Trakker, Marvi M. Ali, said the information is relayed to computers in the Trakker Control Room where the vehicle is displayed on the screen enabling C-Track to monitor the exact condition of the vehicle. Especially during the emergencies like vehicle snatching, hijacking or kidnapping, C-Track can also help the police to rapidly recover and intercept the missing or stolen vehicle by accurately pinpointing its location.
She said that Trakker is the first company in Pakistan to offer a satellite-based vehicle security system, under licence from the Government of Pakistan.
She said Karachi is proud to be hosting the inauguration of this high-tech capability for vehicle management the first venture of its kind in this part of Asia, including India, Bangladesh, Sri-Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia.
Earlier, a demonstration was given on the screen how the Trakker Control Room can detect and stop the car from being driven by snatchers.
Later, US Consul General John Bennett presented a shield to Marvi Ali on launching the C-Track in Pakistan.
