AMENDMENT IN SRO 448(I)/2000 DATED 1ST JULY 2000 REGARDING JURISCICTION OF COLELCTORATE OF CUSTOMS SLAES TAX AND CENTRAL (ADJUDICATION)
I am directed to refer to the subject cited above and to
enclose a copy of notification No. SRO 07(I)/2002, dated the 5th January, 2002,
which amends SRO 448(I)/2000, dated 1st July, 2000.
2. The amending notification authorises the officers of sales tax not below the rank of
Superintendent or Senior Auditor of the Executive Collectorates to decide the cases
involving short filing and non-filing of sales tax returns. All such pending cases shall
be transferred from the adjudication Collectorates to respective Executive Collectorates.
3. The Collectors are, however, advised that till further orders, only Assistant Collector
and Deputy Collectors shall be assigned the adjudication work of such cases. The pendency
should be disposed off at the earliest in order to reduce the back log.
