The following Ordinance made by the President is hereby published for general information:-

Ordinance No. XXVII of 2001
AN
ORDINANCE

further to amend the Customs Act, 1969

WHEREAS, it is expedient further to amend the Customs Act, 1969 (IV of 1969), for the purposes hereinafter appearing;

AND WHEREAS the President is satisfied that circumstances exist which render it necessary to take immediate action;

NOW THEREFORE, in pursuance of Proclamation of Emergency of the fourteenth day of October, 1999, and Provisional Constitution Order No. 1 of 1999, read with the Provisional Constitution (Amendment) Order No. 9 of 1999, and in exercise of all powers enabling him in that behalf, the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is pleased to make and promulgate the following Ordinance:-

1. Short title and commencement.-- (1) This Ordinance may be called the Customs (Amendment) Ordinance, 2001.
(1) It shall come into force at once.

2. Amendment of First Schedule, Act IV of 1969.-- In he Customs Act, 1969 (IV of 1969), in the First Schedule,--
(1) in Section II, in Chapter 10,--
(i) in heading No. 10.01,-
(a) against sub-heading 1001.1000 in column (1), in column (3), for the figure "5" the figure "30" shall be substituted; and
(b) against sub-heading 1001.9000 in column (1), in column (3), for the figure "5" the figure "30" shall be substituted.
