NOTIFICATIONS
Islamabad, the 20th June, 2001
No. 1-1/2001-Min.-In pursuance of the
Proclamation of Emergency (Amendment) Order 2001 (Chief Executive Order No. 2 of 2001) Mr.
Muhammad Rafiq Tarar has ceased to hold the office of the President of the Islamic
Republic of Pakistan with immediate effect.
Islamabad, the 20th June, 2001
No. 1-2/2001-Min.-In pursuance of President's Succession Order, 2001 (Chief Executive
Order No. 3 of 2001) General Pervez Musharraf, has, this the 20th day of June, 2001 made
before the Chief Justice of Pakistan the oath of office as President of Pakistan.

No. l-2/2001-Min.-The following proclamation of assumption of office by General Pervez
Musharraf, as the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is notified for public
information:-
PROCLAMATION
"WHEREAS General Pervez Musharraf has entered upon the office of President of the
Islamic Republic of Pakistan under the President's Succession Order, 2001.
"Now, THEREFORE, let it be known to all and sundry that General Pervez Musharraf has
today, this twentieth day of June 2001, taken oath of office as the President and has
assumed the office of the President of Pakistan.
ORDER
ORDERED that this Proclamation be read out at all units of the armed forces and all
stations of the Army, Navy and Air Force.
ORDERED, further, that a copy of this proclamation be sent to the Governors of the
Provinces of the Punjab, North West Frontier, Sindh and Balochistan.
