NOTIFICATION
(Central Excise)
S.R.O. 686(I)/2001.-- In exercise of the powers
conferred by sub-section (1) of section 12A of the Central Excises Act, 1944 (I of 1944),
the Federal Government is pleased to direct that the following further amendment shall be
made in its Notification No. S.R.O. 455(I)/96, dated the 13th June, 1996, namely:-
In the aforesaid Notification, in the Table, against the expression "Cigars,
cheroots, cigarillos and cigarettes", in column (1), in column (3), for sub-clause
(b), and the entries relating thereto in column (4), the following shall be substituted,
namely:-
"(b) if not covered by sub-clause (a):
| (i) if the retail price does not exceed four rupees and forty-eight paisas per ten cigarettes | One rupee and ninety-one paisas per ten cigarettes. |
| (ii) if retail price exceeds four rupees and forty-eight paisas per ten cigarettes but does not exceed ten rupees per ten cigarettes. | One rupee and ninety-one paisas per ten cigarettes plus sixty-nine per cent per incremental rupee or part thereof. |
| (iii) if the retail price exceeds ten rupees per ten cigarettes. | Sixty-three per cent of the retail price." |
