S.R.O.344(I)/2000.- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 12A of the Central Excises Act, 1944 (I of 1944), the Federal Government is pleased to direct that the following further amendments shall be made in its Notification No.S.R.O.456(I)/96, dated the 13th June, 1996, namely:-
In the aforesaid Notification, in the Table, in column (1),--
(1) for heading number 3814.0000 and the entries relating thereto in columns (2) and (3) the following shall be substituted, namely:-

"3814.0000 |
Organic composite solvents and thinners, not elsewhere specified or included; prepared paint or varnish removers: |
|
|
(i) Solvent oil |
Nine rupees per litre. |
|
|
(ii) MTT (Mineral Turpentine) |
Nine rupees per litre. |
|
|
(iii) Others |
Ten per cent of the retail price."; |
(2) heading numbers 3916.0000, 3917.0000, 3918.0000, 3919.0000, 3920.0000, 3921.0000, 3922.0000, 3923.0000, 3924.0000, 3925.0000 and 3926.0000 and the entries relating thereto in columns (2) and (3) shall be omitted;
(3) after heading number 3814.000, the following new heading number and the entries relating thereto in columns (2) and (3) shall be inserted, namely:-

Newsprint, in rolls or sheets |
Two and a half per cent ad val."; and |
(4) against heading number 8507.0000, in column (2), for the existing entry the following shall be substituted; namely:-
"Electric accumulators, whether or not rectangular (including square), excluding separator plates".
