CENTRAL EXCISE

S.R.O. 844(I)/2000.-- In exercise of the powers conferred by section 27 of the Central Excises Act, 1944 (I of 1944) the Central Board of Revenue is pleased to direct that the following further amendment shall be made in the Central Excise Rules, 1944, namely:-

In the aforesaid Rules, in rule 13, after sub-rule (7) the following new sub-rule shall be added, namely:-

"(8) Notwithstanding anything herein before contained where the consignments have been cleared during the period commencing from the 1st January, 1991 and ending on or before the 24th August, 1994 against AR-3 for export by a person other than the manufacturer shall also be entitled to the benefit under this rule subject to the condition that the concerned manufacturers produce copy of the shipping bills and duplicate copy of the AR-3 containing particulars of the relevant shipping bill duly certified by the authorized customs officer of the custom port of export to the effect that the goods have been duly exported and that no refund under rule 12 of Central Excise Rules, 1944, had been claimed in respect thereof."
