NOTIFICATION
(CUSTOMS)

S.R.O.--------(I)/99.-I n exercise of the powers conferred by section 219 of the Customs Act, 1969 (IV of 1969), the Central Board of Revenue is pleased to direct that the following further amendments shall be made in the Passenger’s Baggage (Import) Rules, 1990, namely:-

In the aforesaid Rules,-
(1) in rule 9, under the heading "Duty Free Allowance",
(i) in clause (b), the ward "and ", at the end, shall be omitted;
(ii) in clause © for the fullstop at the end, the semicolon and"; shall be added; and
(iii) after clause ( C ), amended as aforesaid, the following new clause, shall be added, namely-

"(d) two personal computers or laptop computers alongwith printers, monitors, key boards, mouses and cables thereof.

(2) in rule 10, under the heading "Duty Free allowance",-
(i) in clause (d)’ the word "and", at the end, shall be omitted;
(ii) in clause (e) for the fullstop, at the end, the semicolon and word "; and " shall be substituted; and
(iii) after clause (e), amended as aforesaid, the following new clause, shall be added, namely:-

"(f) two personal computers or laptop computers alongwith printers, monitors, key boards, mouses and cables thereof".

(3) in rule 16,
(i) in clause (g) the word "and", at the end, shall be omitted;
(ii) in clause (h) for the fullstop at the end the semicolon and word";and" shall be substituted; and
(iii) after clause (h), amended as aforesaid, the following new clause, shall be added, namely:-
(i) two personal computers or laptop computers alongwith printers, monitors, key boards, mouses and cables thereof ; and

(4) in rule 31,
(i) in clause (i) the word "and" at the end, shall be omitted;
(ii) in clause (ii) for the fullstop at the end, the semicolon and the word ";and" shall be substituted; and
(iii) after clause (ii) amended as aforesaid, the following new clause, shall be added, namely:-

"(iii) two personal computers or laptop computer alongwith printers, monitors, key boards, mouses and cables thereof:,
