Annual development Plan documents indicate that the target for unit prices of crude oil imports were $12.5 and $15.0 per barrel for FY99 and FY00, respectively. On the other hand the prices of Brent Crude started its increase in mid-December 1998, moved from US$ 9.3 per barrel (on 11th December) to US$ 16.3 on 25th June 1999, and closed at US$ 31.6 on 30th June 2000.
