AFGHAN TRANSIT TRADE

All Authorized Dealers are advised that Ministry of Commerce, Government of Pakistan in terms of Government of Pakistan’s Gazette Notification No. S.R.O. 335(1)/2003 dated the 9th April, 2003 has prohibited bringing into Pakistan by sea, land and air in transit to Afghanistan certain goods (as listed in the SRO).
2. In this context, a copy of above-referred SRO is enclosed for information. 
3. Please bring the above to the notice of your constituents

ORDER
Islamabad, the 9th April, 2003

S.R.O. 335 (I)/2003.-- WHEREAS it is expedient to take necessary measures to protect the public morality, including control of illegal trade and smuggling: NOW, THEREFORE, in pursuance of provisions of Article X of the Agreement between the Government of Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Government of Afghanistan for regulation of traffic in transit and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3 of the Imports and Exports (Control) Act, 1950 (XXXIX of 1950) and in supersession of its Notification numbers S.R.O. 135 (1)/96 dated the 12th February, 1996 and S.R.O. 517 (1)/2001, dated the 14th July, 2001, the Federal Government is pleased to prohibit

the bringing into Pakistan by sea, land and air in transit to Afghanistan of goods specified in column (2) of the table below, namely:-
