Dear Sirs,
Registration (Importers and Exporters) Order 1993.
In terms of S.R.O.
No. 490(1)/2002 dated the 5th August, 2002 the Ministry of Commerce, Government of
Pakistan has rescinded the Registration (Importers and Exporters) Order 1993, with
immediate effect. Consequently, Authorised Dealers are advised to make the requisite
amendment in all paras of Foreign Exchange Manual (8th Edition, 2002) wherever
“Registration Order 1993” appears.
2. Authorised Dealers are further advised that with the elimination of registration
number, they may use GIR No. (NTN) and NIC Nos. which are already present on Form
‘E’ and Form ‘I’ as distinctive number for administrative purpose. In
case, an importer/exporter is not a tax payer, there is already a provision on Form
‘E’ & ‘I’ for Income Tax Circle No. which may be used in
combination with NIC Nos. as distinctive number for administrative purpose.
