Islamabad, the 29th August, 1990

S.R.O. 931(I)/90.- In exercise of the powers conferred by section 36 of the Drugs Act, 1976 (XXXI of 1976), the Federal Government, being of the opinion that the public interest so requires, is pleased to exempt the substances, and on the conditions, specified in the Schedule below from all the Provisions of the said Act until further orders.

SCHEDULE

The substances having been used in the manufacture of Unani or syurvedic system of medicine and not claimed to be a drug in accordance with the specification under clause (z) of section 3 of the Drugs Act, 1976;

1. Sulphuric Acid.
2. Acetic Acid.
3. Carbolic Acid.
4. Tartaric Acid.
5. Antimony Nigrum.
6. Sodium Carbonate.
7. Borax (Sodium Borate).
8. Liquid Parafin.
9. Alumins.
10. Zinc Oxide.
11. Sodium Bi-Carbonate.
12. Arsenic Trioxide.
13. Mercurous Sulphate.
14. Potassium Nitrate.
15. Calcium Carbonate.
16. Camphor.
17. Sulphur.
18. Lead Oxide.
19. Ammonium Chloride.
20. Ferrous Sulphate.
21. Cantherides.
22. Cod-Liver Oil.
23. Olive Oil.
24. Menthol.
25. Thymol.

26. Medicinal plants or any part thereof including their fruits, seeds exudates, gums and resins but excluding any of the pure active constituent isolated from such plants which in itself is a drug.
