S.R.O. 268(I)/79.- In exercise of the powers conferred by section
36 of the Drugs Act, 1976 (XXXI of 1976), the Federal Government is pleased to exempt,
from the operation of all provisions of the said Act, such substances intended to be used
for the destruction or repulsion of such vermine, insects, rodents and other organisms as
cause, carry or transmit disease in human beings or animals or for disinfection in
residential areas or in premises in which food is manufactured, prepared or kept or
stored, and such pesticides as may cause health hazard to the public, subject to the
following conditions, namely:-
(1) Applications in respect of such substances and pesticides are received by the 31st
May, 1979,--
(a) for their registration, in the Registration Board, Islamabad; and
(b) for the grant of licences for their manufacture, in the Central Licensing Board,
Islamabad; and
(2) such substances and pesticides are registered or, as the case may be, licences for
their manufacture are granted, before the 31st December, 1979.
