S.R.O. 1138(I)/88.- In exercise of the powers conferred
by section 36 of the Drugs Act, 1976 (XXXI of 1976), the Federal Government, being of the
opinion that the public interest so requires, is pleased to exempt the drugs, namely
"THALIDOMIDE", from all provisions of the said Act.
The exemption granted under this notification shall be subject to the condition that the
aforesaid drug shall be imported only by Marie Adelaide Centre, Karachi, and prescribed
and dispensed only by its medical exports to the leprosy patients at that centre and that
it will not be prescribed at all to married or pregnant ladies.
