NOTIFICATION
Islamabad, the 17th November, 1977
S.R.O. 1123(I)/77.- In exercise o the powers conferred
by section 36 of the Drugs Act, 1976 (XXXI of 1976), the Federal Government, being of
opinion that the public interest so requires, is pleased to exempt such drugs and on such
conditions as are specified in the Schedule below from all the provisions of the said Act.
2. The exemption granted under this notification shall remain valid for a period of ten
years.
SCHEDULE
1. Drugs intended to be used in Unani or ayurvedic
system of medicine (if not claimed to be a drug in accordance with the specification under
clause (z) of section 3 of the Drugs Act, 1976):
1. Sulphuric Acid.
2. Acetic Acid.
3. Carbolic Acid.
4. Tartaric Acid.
5. Antimony Nigrum.
6. Sodium Carbonate.
7. Borax (Sodium Borate).
8. Liquid Paraffin.
9. Zinc Oxide.
10. Alumen.
11. Sodium Bi-Carbonate.
12. Arsenic trioxide.
13. Mercurous Sulphate.
14. Potassium Nitrate.
15. Calcium Carbonate.
16. Camphor.
17. Sulphur.
18. Lead Oxide.
19. Ammonium Chloride.
20. Ferri Sulph.
21. Cantherides.
22. Cod-liver Oil.
23. Olive Oil.
24. Menthol.
25. Thymol.
II. Medicinal plants or any part thereof including their fruits, seeds, exudates, gums and
resins but excluding any o the pure active constituent isolated from such materials which
in itself is a drug.
